Production of aluminum  items drops to 50% in Ctg

C T Online Desk: The  production of aluminum products has dropped by more than half in three years. Due to the increase in the price of raw materials, the traders are not seeing profit in the production of products.

Out of 110 factories  60  closed in three years, only 70 are currently operational. Some more factories are on the way to closure, said those associated with the aluminum business.

Aluminum factories have been established in the Muradpur-dominated area of ​​the city since the British period. At one time, Muradpur was the only aluminum business in the Chittagong region. But that blissful situation is no more. Talking to several owners, it is known that there has been a financial loss of more than two crore taka due to Corona. Many traders could not overcome that loss

. Due to which many factories have closed down. At present, about two thousand people are directly and indirectly involved in the work of aluminum factories, including owners-workers and their families. Besides, more than 16 types of daily household products were once made here. Now less than 10-11 types of products are being manufactured.
