C T Online Desk: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur in many places across Bangladesh.
“Light to moderate rain or showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barisal, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met Office release.
The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in Sylhet division, the release said.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay, it said.
However, the day temperature may rise by 1-2°C over the southern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere, while the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged across Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 36.5°C at Sylhet while the minimum temperature on Saturday was 24.8°C at Teknaf.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday was recorded 50mm at Mongla.
The sun sets at 6:28pm on Saturday and would rise at 5:36am on Sunday in the capital.
