C T Online Desk: Customs officials arrested a man along with one kilogramme of gold at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Thursday morning.
The detainee Mizanur Rahman, hailing from Lohagara upazila of Chattogram, was a passenger of a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence conducted a drive on the flight coming from Dubai in the morning and arrested Mizan with gold, liquor and cigarettes, according to Customs Intelligence Additional Deputy Director M Sultan Mahmud.
“The items were recovered after searching his body and bags” he said.
The estimated price of the gold is Tk1 crore.
“Mizanur is being questioned,” the officer added.
