C T Online Desk: Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury visited the proposed site for construction of government facilities in Jungle Salimpur.
He visited the proposed site on Sunday for construction of various government facilities including Eco Park, Sports Village, Chittagong Heart Foundation Hospital, Chittagong Central Jail in the govt land of Jangle Salimpur in the port city.. Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Local Government) Badiul Alam, Nazmul Ahsan and others were present.
It is known that Salimpur forest of Sitakunda Upazila is an ideal place to take development projects while maintaining the environment. Its distance from Chittagong city is only 10 km. The total Khas land in 5 mauzas is about 2 thousand 800 acres. Since the 90s, land grabbers have created jungle Shalimpur as a paradise for criminals living illegally by cutting down the hills and endangering the environment.
