District admin’s drive in jungle Salimpur  in Ctg

C T Online Desk: A  anti-occupation  drive   has been conducted in Alinagar of Salimpur jungle, known as a terror sanctuary, under the leadership of the district administration. A large number of members of RAB, police participated in the operation. The operation started from 10:30 am on Friday (July 22) and lasted until 4:30 pm. In the operation, 7 drum trucks and 3 excavators were seized for the crime of illegal hill  cutting. The seized goods have been handed over to the Department of Environment  with  seizure list. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Ashraful Alam of Sitakunda Upazila led the operation. He told media   that the operation was conducted as part of the master plan undertaken by the District Commissioner of Chittagong around Salimpur forest. In the operation, 7 drum trucks and 3 excavators were seized for the crime of illegal mountain cutting. He said that the government wants to send a message through the campaign that there is no one more powerful than the administration. Such operations will continue in the future. Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun, Sitakunda Zone Additional Superintendent of Police Ashraful Karim, Environment Department Chittagong Deputy Director Ferdous Anwar, Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad were present.
