Sri Lanka hold nerve as first Test ends in a draw

C T Online Desk: The first Test between hosts Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw after their day five play at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong on Thursday.

Earlier, Bangladesh left arm spinner Taijul Islam took four important wickets as Sri Lanka have scored 261 runs losing six wickets.

Taijul made the first breakthrough in the morning session of day five when Kusal Mendis was clean bowled in the second ball of 32nd over.

Angelo Mathews, who scored 199 in the first innings, was then gone for naught as he was caught and bowled by Taijul. It was a brilliant reflex catch by the left arm spinner.
