C T Online Desk: For the first time, a two-day STS simulation course has started at Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chattogram .
Bashundhara Group and Exmar (Belgium) have initiated the course. The course started on Wednesday (May 11) morning at the newly constructed simulation center of Bangladesh Marine Academy. Training on various aspects of LPG, LNG gas ship to ship transfer is being imparted under the supervision of experienced trainers from Belgium and India.
In the inaugural session, Bashundhara Group GM Mahmud Naser said, “Today we have started a new course. It is very risky to unload gas from a mother vessel to a dotter (small) ship in the outer anchorage, because the gas vessel is like a bomb. The captains of the two ships need to have a good understanding to do the job safely.
