C T Online Desk: The service provider Sander Medicaids (Pvt.) Ltd. announced the closure of kidney dialysis services due to non-receipt of arrears from the government. Under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), the Indian institute has set up two centers for kidney dialysis at in Dhaka and Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital.
The company announced the closure of dialysis services at both the centers simultaneously from January 5 , claiming a two-year arrears from the government for the services. However, after discussions with the concerned authorities, the company withdrew from the decision to close the dialysis service on Tuesday night. In this context, according to the announcement, the dialysis service will not be stopped from Wednesday.
Kidney dialysis service is running in both the centers of Dhaka and Chittagong. Nazmul Hasan, manager (accounts) of Sander Medicaids (Pvt.) Ltd., a dialysis service provider, confirmed the information yesterday. He said a high-level meeting was held at the PPP office on Tuesday night on the issue. The meeting was attended by senior officials of all concerned including PPP authorities, health department, CMC Hospital authorities.
