Student, traders clash in New Market: Injured Morsaline dies at DMCH

C T Online Desk: Another youth, who sustained critical injuries during the clash between shop employees and Dhaka College Students in the New Market area, has died in a hospital in the capital.

The deceased was identified as Morsalin, 26, was an employee of a shop in New Market.

He breathed his last around 4:35am on Thursday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while undergoing treatment.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the matter.

Earlier on Tuesday night, Nahid Hasan (18), an employee of a courier service in the Bata Signal area at Elephant Road, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The two sides clashed for nearly two and a half hours in the small hours of Tuesday before police dispersed them using tear gas and rubber bullets. The clashes resumed in the morning, further crippling Dhaka’s slow Ramadan traffic.
