The day of publishing examination results once brought excitement, anxiety and anticipation among students. College campuses would fill with students waiting eagerly for results displayed on notice boards. While some celebrated their success, others shared moments of disappointment with friends.
However, the tradition has gradually disappeared as students can now check their results instantly through mobile phones. The familiar crowds and celebrations around college notice boards are no longer visible.
This year’s results have added to the disappointment, as the number of GPA-5 achievers under the Chattogram Education Board has dropped by more than half compared to last year.
Until 2:30 pm, even Chattogram College and Government Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College, traditionally known for academic excellence, witnessed very few students on their campuses.
Whether digital access to results or disappointment over academic performance has taken away the traditional excitement of result day remains a question.
