Nagad, the mobile financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, has partnered with ONE Bank to make remittance services more accessible through digital wallets.

Under the agreement, expatriates can send money through international exchange houses, money transfer operators and banks, with funds transferred through ONE Bank reaching Nagad wallets. Customers, including those in rural and remote areas, will be able to access remittances 24/7 across Bangladesh.

The two organisations will also explore options to enable customers to pay monthly deposit pension scheme (DPS) installments and loan equated monthly installments (EMIs), including ONE Bank’s nano-loan repayments, through Nagad.

Nagad Chief Commercial Officer Mohummed Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan and ONE Bank Deputy Managing Director Kazi Ziaul Islam signed the agreement at ONE Bank’s corporate headquarters in Gulshan.

Both officials expressed optimism that the partnership would improve access to financial services, particularly for people in areas where banking facilities are limited.
