CCC fines illegal parkers Tk 6,000, seizes vehicle on cycle track

C T Online Desk: Oct 11, 2026– Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) conducted a drive against illegal parking on the country’s first cycle track in Patenga today, imposing fines totalling Tk 6,000 and seizing one vehicle.

The drive was conducted from 10am to 1:30pm today under the leadership of CCC Regional Executive Officer Pronoy Chakma.

Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury inaugurated the cycle track on Airport Road in Patenga on Friday.

Pronoy Chakma said two cases were filed under the Road Transport Act, 2018, against vehicles parked illegally on the track. Fines totalling Tk 6,000 were collected through the cases, and one vehicle was seized.

He added that similar drives would continue to ensure the proper use of the cycle track, prevent illegal parking and keep the track clear so that city residents could cycle without obstruction.

Subal Chakma, Regional Executive Officer of CCC Zone-5, participated in the operation along with zonal officials, supervisors, ward supervisors and the CCC striking force. Patenga Police Station also provided full cooperation.
