Low-income people in Mymensingh receive TCB smart cards

C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh Bureau :  Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Smart Family Cards have been distributed in the Mymensingh City Corporation area. Through this, designated low-income families in the city will have the opportunity to purchase various TCB products at subsidized prices.

Smart Family Cards were officially handed over to the beneficiaries at the Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium of the Nagar Bhaban of Mymensingh City Corporation on Wednesday (October 7) morning.

The program was presided over by Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon. The program was attended by concerned officers and employees of the City Corporation, representatives from various levels, and beneficiaries of the Smart Family Card.

The organizers said that the government has been providing various products at subsidized prices through TCB for a long time to reduce the cost of living of low-income people and keep daily necessities within their purchasing power. Initiatives have been taken to reach these benefits to the actual beneficiaries in a more orderly manner through the Smart Family Card.

Speakers at the event said that due to the rise in commodity prices, families with limited incomes are struggling to meet their daily expenses. In such a situation, TCB’s subsidized products are acting as an important support for them. Ensuring the specified benefits of beneficiaries through smart cards will create more transparency and accountability in the distribution of government assistance.

In his speech, Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon said that it is important to implement various government programs for the welfare of low-income people properly. All concerned should be careful that government assistance does not go beyond the actual beneficiaries in any way. He expressed hope that the city’s low-income families will benefit from the distribution of TCB Smart Family Cards.

The beneficiaries present at the card distribution ceremony said that the TCB facility is very helpful for them in purchasing daily necessities for their families. Such government assistance will give them some relief in managing market expenses with limited income.

The concerned said that through the smart family card system, the activities of storing and verifying the information of the beneficiaries and providing the prescribed benefits will be easier and more effective.
