Especially on busy roads, these illegal encroachments are increasing traffic congestion and the risk of accidents is constantly increasing. In the wake of complaints from local residents and pedestrians, the Mymensingh City Corporation administration has taken a strict stance on this issue.
Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Mr. Md. Rukunozzaman Rokon is conducting a field campaign in the public interest and to restore order in the city. In this campaign led by him, stones and construction materials illegally placed on the roads at various important points of the city were removed.
During the operation, it was observed that some unscrupulous individuals had left construction materials on the road for their own convenience, which has become a serious risk to the public. This is causing problems for pedestrians, obstructing motorcycles and small vehicles, and increasing the risk of accidents for large vehicles.
The administration has strictly warned the concerned and has ordered them to refrain from such activities in the future. The City Corporation said that roads are not private property; they are public property. Therefore, no one will be able to occupy the roads as they wish. A zero tolerance policy will be followed against such irregularities.
During the operation, illegally placed construction materials were removed and seized where necessary. At the same time, legal action has also been taken against those involved. The administration said, “We are determined to protect the beauty of the city and ensure the safety of citizens. No kind of irregularities will be tolerated.”
Local residents have expressed satisfaction with the campaign. They said that they have been suffering a lot due to the dumping of stones and construction materials on the roads for a long time. They also mentioned that many times children and elderly people have been victims of accidents. They called this initiative of the City Corporation timely and commendable.
Relevant officials and employees of the City Corporation and members of the law enforcement agencies were present during the operation and provided overall assistance in conducting the operation.
According to City Corporation sources, regular campaigns will be conducted against such illegal encroachment and dumping of construction materials on the roads in various parts of the city.
