Madrasa principal accused of collecting additional registration fees

C T Online Desk: Mohammed Faisal Special Correspondent:  The principal of Char Jubilee Rabbania Fazil Madrasa in Subarnachar Upazila of Noakhali has been accused of collecting additional fees for the 8th grade board registration process. Although the board notice stipulates only 74 taka for each student, the madrasa authorities are collecting 300 taka from each student without any receipt.

When we went to the ground, it was learned that the principal of Char Jubilee Rabbania Madrasa in Subarnachar Upazila is collecting 300 taka for the 8th grade registration process without any receipt. Although the students and guardians are angry about this, they are not getting the courage to protest due to fear. Some students including Azgar Hossain, Riyamani and Purnima Akhter complained that they have also collected 300 taka from us.

When contacted, Madrasa Office Assistant Md. Shamsu Uddin said that the registration fee for class 8 has been collected at a rate of 300 taka, and I have paid all the money collected from me for the registration fee to the relevant authorities of this Madrasa.

When contacted on mobile phone, the principal of this Madrasa, Abdur Rahman, said that this is a lie and a conspiracy against me. Come directly and I will show you the details.

When asked about the collection of additional registration free of charge on mobile phone, Subarnachar Upazila Secondary Education Officer, Mr. Shamima Akhter, said that I have not received any written complaint so far. If I receive a complaint, I will verify the truth and take legal action.

Subarnachar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. Akib Osman said – I have received a copy of an application regarding the principal of Char Jubilee Rabbania Fazil Madrasa accepting extra money from students, and action will be taken in this regard after getting instructions from the higher authorities.

When Additional District Magistrate and Char Jubilee Rabbania Madrasa President Taslimun Nesa was called on his mobile phone to inquire about this, she did not receive the call. As a result, it was not possible to take a statement.

The students and their families who suffered in this incident have sought appropriate justice for the principal of this madrasa and the locals claim that the money-grubbing and oppressive person has no right to teach in this madrasa. We protest against this.
