People not afraid of Corona : Eid smiles in city markets after 2 years

C T Online Desk: Traders and buyers seem to be breathing a sigh of relief at the Eid shopping after the Omicron storm stopped. People do not have to fall prey to government restrictions because they are not afraid of corona. In the last two years, the business has not been able to scatter the business, let alone the business. This time the situation is different, the traders have invested a lot in the Eid market in Chittagong.

Traders have invested thousands of crores of taka in the markets ahead of Eid. Every market and shopping mall in the city has been redesigned. Almost every organization has new collections to attract customers. For years, political stability, the country’s development wheel has been in motion, and businessmen have been investing in peace without fear of corona.

The largest investment in the city has been in the wholesale market of cloth, Teri Bazar. City Elite Market Riazuddin Bazar, New Market, Sanmar Ocean City, Amin Center, Mimi Super Market, Bali Arcade, Central Plaza, UNESCO Center, Finlay Square, Moti Tower in Chawkbazar, Moti Complex, Gulzar Tower, Chuck Super, Chalk View, In Agrabad, new outfits are being adorned in more than 50 shops in the city including Akhtaruzzaman Center, Lucky Plaza, Jhanak Plaza, Alangkar Shopping Complex, Zahur Hawkers Market, Singapore Market and Patengar Bay-Shopping Market. Traders are investing 8-10 times more money than usual ahead of Eid.

Abdul Mannan, former general secretary of the Teri Bazar Businessmen’s Association, said that traders have started investing in Teri Bazar three months before Ramadan. The traders have brought cosmetic items including clothes of famous brands from different countries including India and China. Hundreds of crores of rupees have been invested in Teri Bazar alone.
