C T Online Desk: Kazi Nayem Uddin, Staff Reporter: Sub-Assistant Engineer of Lakshmipur Sadar LGED, Bellal Hossain, has protested reports published on various online platforms and social media concerning him.
In the protest statement, it was said that the report titled “Five Years in the Same Station” and “Allegations of Irregularities” was intentional, baseless, and defamatory. The statement claimed that no specific evidence or factual proof was presented regarding the allegations mentioned in the report.
Sub-Assistant Engineer Bellal Hossain said, “I have been carrying out my duties in accordance with government rules and regulations. A vested interest group is spreading false and misleading information against me for personal motives. A certain quarter has become dissatisfied because of maintaining transparency in project implementation and is conducting propaganda against me.”
He further stated that the allegations of withholding contractors’ bills or taking unethical benefits are completely false. According to him, every project is implemented following government policies, and bill processing is carried out according to the office’s prescribed procedures.
Several LGED officials stated that Bellal Hossain has been performing his duties with efficiency and honesty for a long time. They also said that no written complaint or departmental investigation has so far been initiated regarding the allegations raised against him.
The protest statement further mentioned that publishing misleading reports against government officials and employees without proper verification creates confusion among the public and negatively affects administrative activities. Therefore, the statement urged concerned individuals to act more responsibly in publishing such reports in the future.
Regarding the matter, Executive Engineer of Lakshmipur District LGED, Ujjal Chowdhury, said, “Any allegation is subject to investigation. Necessary action will be taken if any specific complaint is received.”
