C T Online Desk: Two workers were killed and two others injured after being buried under soil during construction work for a WASA project in the Agrabad Access Road area of Chattogram city early Thursday.
The incident took place around 4:00am. Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and rescued the victims.
The deceased were identified as Rakib and Tushar. Tushar was from Dinajpur district.
The injured workers, Sagar and Ershad, are currently receiving treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
According to Md. Jasim Uddin, Deputy Director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Chattogram division, the workers were digging soil for the installation of water pipelines in front of Singapore Market on Agrabad Access Road when the incident occurred.
“Our team rescued them and took them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead,” he said.
