Bengali New Year: Celebration

C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh :  The Bengali New Year 1433 was celebrated with colorful arrangements in Trishal, Mymensingh. On the occasion of the first Baishakh, the upazila administration organized a day-long celebration through various programs. The main attraction of this event held at the Dukhumia Vidyaniketan ground in the upazila was the Baisakhi procession, which was decorated in various colors and shapes, creating a festive atmosphere. Students from various educational institutions, cultural organizations and common people from all walks of life participated in the procession. At this time, a folk fair was organized to highlight the folk heritage, where the collection of various materials, handicrafts and traditional foods of rural culture was remarkable.

Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam was present as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he highlighted the significance of Bengali New Year and said that this festival is the festival of the life of Bengalis, which is a symbol of our tradition, culture and harmony.

Arafat Siddiqui presided over the event. He wished everyone a Happy New Year and said that through such an event, it is possible to convey our culture and traditions to the new generation.

In addition, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions at the event, and local artists enthralled the audience with music, dance, and recitation performances in a day-long cultural program.

Respected citizens from all walks of life of Trishal Upazila spontaneously participated in this event, which made the entire event lively. The upazila administration informed that such events will continue in the future as well, so that the thousand-year-old tradition and culture of Bengalis can be spread among the new generation.
