C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : Police have arrested a drug dealer named Md. Ashraful Alam (38) with 51 pieces of Yaba in an anti-drug operation in Trishal, Mymensingh. He was arrested in a special operation in the Dakerchowk (Baghadaria) Notun Bazar area of Kanihari Union of the upazila on March 27 (Friday).
According to police sources, a smart team of Trishal Police Station based on a secret tip-off took up position in the Dakkerchak Notun Bazar area. Md. Ashraful Alam was challenged as a suspect and 51 pieces of banned Yaba tablets were recovered from him. Police have confirmed that the arrested Ashraful is a resident of that area.
Trishal Police Station said that this special operation is part of their regular activities to implement the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drugs. Such a strict stance will continue in the future to protect the society and the youth from the terrible clutches of drugs.
An officer of the police station said, “The police administration is always active to keep the area drug-free and to curb crime. No criminal or drug dealer will be spared. The process of filing a case under the relevant law in this incident is underway.” The residents of the area hope that Trishal Upazila will soon be drug-free with this relentless police campaign.
