C T Online Desk: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged efforts to make the activities of the National Parliament more dynamic, saying it is essential to ensure the legislature remains effective and vibrant to strengthen democracy.
He made the remarks while presiding over a meeting of ruling party Members of Parliament at the Parliament Secretariat on Saturday afternoon (March 28). During the meeting, he also delivered guidance-oriented instructions to the lawmakers.
The prime minister said the pace of parliamentary work must be accelerated, adding that it reflects public expectations.
At the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister, along with BNP lawmakers, took part in a special prayer expressing shock and sorrow over the death of Dilara Hafiz, wife of National Parliament Speaker Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram), and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased.
The meeting also discussed ongoing government activities, the current political situation, legislative work, and future action plans.
Also present on the stage with the prime minister were BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni.
