C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : Mymensingh district administration has taken a strict stance to keep the prices of essential commodities at a tolerable level ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. On-site monitoring activities have been conducted in various markets of the city to keep prices stable and prevent manipulation by unscrupulous traders.
The operation was carried out in important markets including Mechua Bazar in the city.
During this time, administration officials went from store to store to check product price lists, monitor stock levels, and talk to buyers and sellers.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Saifur Rahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Mizanur Rahman, representatives of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection and the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing were present at the monitoring activity.
At this time, the District Administrator warned the traders, “No one should create an artificial crisis centered around Ramadan. Strict legal action will be taken if products are sold at excessive prices or consumers are cheated.”
The administration has informed that regular supervision and operation of mobile courts will continue to keep the market situation normal. It was also informed that the district administration is on the highest alert to protect the interests of consumers.
