C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : A fire broke out at a cosmetics and bag shop located in Mizan Tower Market in front of the Trishal Bazar police station in Mymensingh. The shop damaged in the fire is called Babul Cosmetics and Bag House, which is located next to Basmati Kacchi House.
According to the upazila administration, the shop caught fire suddenly at around 11 pm on January 22. Upon receiving the news, Upazila Executive Officer Arafat Siddiqui Circle ASP and Trishal Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Firoz Hossain immediately visited the spot and spoke to the affected shop owner and expressed their condolences.
The fire service and the shop owner initially said the fire started from an electrical short circuit.
Immediately after the incident, the Trishal Fire Station was informed and three units of the Trishal Fire Service quickly reached the spot. The fire service members immediately started extinguishing the fire and were able to bring the fire completely under control within some time.
Various goods, including cosmetics and bags, inside the shop were damaged in the fire. However, the fire service’s quick and effective action prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring shops.
No casualties were reported in the incident. The situation is currently normal and the matter is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
