C T Online Desk: Protests are ongoing at Shahbagh in Dhaka over the shooting and killing of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The demonstrations, which began Friday night, have drawn people from across the capital since the morning, with attendance steadily increasing.
By 11am on Saturday, students and citizens from various areas had gathered at Shahbagh, carrying national flags and placards.
Bayezid, who came from Mirpur to join the protest, said: “Hadi’s death is an irreparable loss for the country and the nation. We have lost a strong voice, a patriot. The failed interim government bears full responsibility. Those involved in Hadi’s killing must be brought to justice quickly. We will not return home until justice is served.”
Meanwhile, an anti-hegemonist rally, organized by the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), is scheduled at Shahbagh at 2:30pm.
