Hadi likely to be taken abroad on Monday

C T Online Desk: Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Moncho and an independent candidate in the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-8 constituency, is likely to be flown abroad on Monday for treatment, pending clearance from the medical board.

“It has been decided to take Hadi abroad tomorrow (Monday), but the medical board will give the final clearance in the morning to confirm whether he is fit to travel or not,” Dr Mohammad Abdul Ahad, a resident physician in the Neurosurgery Department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said on Sunday.

Dr Ahad was part of the team that carried out Hadi’s initial surgery at DMCH.

Earlier in the day, while speaking to journalists in front of Evercare Hospital, where Hadi is undergoing treatment, the physician said that with no signs of improvement, Hadi’s condition remains critical, and a small fragment of the bullet is still lodged in his brain.

The Inqilab Moncho spokesperson was shot in the capital on 12 December, just a day after the schedule for the 13th parliamentary election and a referendum was announced.
