He made the remarks on Wednesday while attending the Course-2025 graduation ceremony at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) auditorium in Mirpur, where he appeared as the chief guest.
Dr. Yunus said the nation has long awaited this election, and ensuring a calm, secure, and joyous environment is essential. “To make this much-anticipated election truly peaceful and festive, we sincerely seek the support of our armed forces,” he stated.
Recalling the role of the military during the July mass uprising, the Chief Adviser praised the army for “taking the right decision at the right moment,” noting that their timely actions had been instrumental during the political transition.
This year, a total of 311 young military officers from 24 countries—including Bangladesh, China, India, Turkey, and Pakistan—participated in the course. Dr. Yunus expressed confidence that the graduates would utilize their acquired knowledge to contribute effectively during any national crisis, both in their personal and professional capacities.
The event was attended by advisers to the government, the Cabinet Secretary, and the chiefs of the three armed forces, among others.
