The temple authorities filed a case today.

“We have already arrested one thief and recovered some of the stolen gold from his possession. Our operation is ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the group. We are also trying to recover the rest of the valuable stolen items,” the OC said.

Sana Bhattacharjee, caretaker of the temple, said the stolen items include a gold crown, a silver crown, earrings, a gold locket with a chain weighing approximately two bhori, a silver skull garland weighing four bhori, and a small gold locket weighing four ana.

The thieves also broke into the donation box and stole between Tk 60,000 and Tk 70,000 in cash contributed by devotees, he told The Daily Star.
