Mystery of two brothers burnt to death, revealed

Mokarrom Billah from Feni : Two years after the murder of two brothers by setting fire to their house in the Birinchi area of ​​Feni town, the police have finally solved the mystery. The media was informed about the matter at a press conference held at the Feni Police Superintendent’s office on Wednesday (5th November) afternoon.

At a press conference, Feni Superintendent of Police Habibur Rahman said that miscreants set fire to the house of Shahidul Islam in Birinchi, word No. 3 of Feni Municipality, in the late night of 5th October, 2023. Mahidul Islam Shahadat (13) and Tanjidul Islam Golap (6) died in the fire. Shahidul Islam, the father of the deceased, filed a murder case with Feni Model Police Station, accusing 13 people.

Although the police managed to arrest 10 accused at different times, it was not possible to unravel the main mystery of the case. At one stage, the district detective police was given the responsibility of investigating the case on an urgent basis.

The Superintendent of Police said that since the incident, the accused Kamal Hossain Johnny, who was named in the case, had been absconding under a pseudonym in different districts of the country. Since Johnny himself did not use a mobile phone, he could not be arrested using information technology.

He said that based on secret information, Kamal Hossain Joni, the accused in the case, was arrested from Madarbari area of ​​Chittagong on Tuesday afternoon and during interrogation, the mystery of the double murder incident in Birinchi area was revealed.

The arrested Johnny informed the police about the mastermind and those involved in the murder, as well as how the incident was planned. Four days before the incident, Johnny and three others, sitting in a garden in the city, planned to set fire to the house. On October 5th, around 1:00 PM, they set fire to it, killing the two people.

Feni Additional Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam, Saidur Rahman, District Detective Police Officer-in-Charge Marm Singh Marma, and other police officials were present at the press conference.
