Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir Special Correspondent : A young man died after falling from the roof of a moving train in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni on Sunday morning.The accident occurred in the Muhuriganj area of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan, 24, son of Suruj Ali from Gauripur area of Mymensingh district.
According to police sources, Mehedi was traveling to Sitakunda in Chattogram with 10–12 friends. They had boarded the roof of a Chattogram-bound mail train from the capital’s Kamalapur station. When the train reached the Muhuriganj area of Chhagalnaiya, Mehedi accidentally slipped and fell off the moving train, dying on the spot.
Later in the afternoon, police recovered the body from the scene.
Deepak Dewan, in-charge of the Feni Railway Police Outpost, confirmed the incident, saying, “The youth died after falling from the roof of a Chattogram-bound mail train. The body has been kept at Feni General Hospital morgue for autopsy. His family has been informed, and necessary legal steps are being taken.”
