C T Online Desk: Feni Correspondent : The newly constructed Feni Prison-2 has officially been inaugurated Saturday, November 1.

Chattogram Divisional DIG (Prisons) Sagir Mia inaugurated the facility in the morning, marking the beginning of operations for Feni’s second prison.

According to officials, 180 inmates from six district jails under the Chattogram division have already been transferred to the new facility. The transferred prisoners include those from Chattogram, Cumilla, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, and Brahmanbaria jails, as well as 21 inmates from Feni Jail-1.

Feni Jail Superintendent Md. Didarul Alam said that all necessary preparations for inmate accommodation, food supply, and security have been completed. A total of 88 staff positions have been approved for the new prison, and 73 officers and employees have already joined.
