Feni in Crisis as Dengue Cases Surpass 500

C T Online Desk: Special Correspondent,Feni | Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir : The dengue situation in Feni has reached an alarming stage, with the number of cases continuing to rise. In the past 24 hours, 12 new dengue patients have been identified, bringing the total number of confirmed cases this year to 495, according to the District Health Department.

Among the newly infected, 4 patients are from Feni Sadar Upazila, 5 from Daganbhuiyan, 1 from Sonagazi, and 2 from Parshuram.

Currently, 9 patients are receiving treatment at Feni General Hospital from Sadar Upazila, 18 from Daganbhuiyan, 1 from Sonagazi, 2 from Chhagalnaiya, and 3 from Parshuram.

From January to September, the district reported 201 dengue cases, but the number surged dramatically in October, with 294 new infections recorded this month alone.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Ruhaiyat Bin Karim said, “This month has seen the highest number of dengue patients so far. Everyone must stay alert and keep their surroundings clean to prevent further spread.”

He also mentioned that there are currently 4,700 dengue testing kits in stock across the district. Most of the infected patients have already recovered and returned home after receiving treatment.
