C T Online Desk: Special Correspondent | Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir : A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Monday (October 20).
The system may intensify, leading to increased rainfall across the country over the next five days, said meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque.
According to the forecast, by Tuesday (October 21), light rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Chattogram division, while the rest of the country will remain mainly dry.
On Wednesday (October 22), rain is likely in Barishal and Chattogram divisions, spreading further on Thursday (October 23) to Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, accompanied by a 1–2°C temperature drop. By Friday (October 24), rain or thundershowers may occur across most divisions, including Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Sylhet. The Met office advised the public to stay alert and follow weather updates as the system develops over the Bay.
