C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : The accident occurred in front of the Bailor Boro Pukurpar Jame Mosque on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the upazila on Tuesday (October 21) morning.
According to local and Trishal police sources, a truck carrying goods with registration number Dhaka Metro T 18-9088 heading towards Mymensingh got stuck in the middle of the road when one of its wheels burst. Another truck carrying goods with registration number Dhaka Metro T 16-2616 came from behind and hit the truck, killing the driver Al Amin (40) and helper Rashedul (28). The deceased truck driver Al Amin was identified as the son of Joynal Mia of Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona district and helper Rashedul was identified as the son of Mohammad Ali of Kalibari area of Kotwali police station of Mymensingh.
Confirming the incident, Trishal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mansur Ahmed said, “Upon receiving the news of the accident, Trishal Police Station immediately went to the scene and recovered the bodies of the deceased. The two trucks have been taken into police custody. It is believed that the accident occurred due to fog in the morning.”
