C T Online Desk: A fire broke out at a section of the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon, officials confirmed.
The affected area is used to store imported goods.
Talha bin Jasim, an officer at the media cell of the Fire Service headquarters, said, “The severity of the fire is severe. Sixteen units have worked at the scene. Another 16 are on their way to the scene.”
Masudul Hasan Masud, spokesperson for the Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told the media that the fire erupted in a section adjacent to the Cargo Village.
He added that members of the fire service, Bangladesh Air Force, and airport personnel were jointly working to douse the flames.
The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage were yet to be determined at the time of filing this report.
