C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel, Mymensingh: Kotwali Police Station has recovered some of the goods worth Tk 8.6 million that were looted from the Saim Telecom mobile shop in Harun Tower Market in Mymensingh city.
On Wednesday (October 15) early morning, the police force led by Kotwali Model Police Station OC Intelligence Sajib Barai and Investigation Officer SI Mazharul Islam of Police Outpost No. 1 led the operation to recover the film’s documentary materials from an unused room inside the boundary of Harun’s own house.
It is known that on June 20, a complaint was filed by the shop owner Atiqur Rahman Khan in the case of looting of goods at the shop where the Saim Telecom position was purchased. In this incident, the main accused, Golam Ambia Harun’s manager Taposh Saha, was arrested on July 6. On July 8, based on his confessional information, the connection between the names of Abu Raihan Zahir and Sabbir was revealed. On October 9, when Abu Raihan Zahir was arrested among the two accused and brought to remand, according to the information given by him, partially looted goods, furniture and related items estimated to be worth Tk 50,000 were recovered in the early hours of October 15.
When the victim plaintiff Atiqur Rahman Khan was questioned about this, he said that the defendant Harun’s sons had handed over the looted mobiles and electronic items to different places. He claimed that if the main accused, who is on bail, is closely interrogated, it is possible to recover all the looted items including the mobiles. The defendants took away the goods worth (sixty-eight thousand three hundred and fifty-three) taka from the shop, the receipt file for paying the shop rent, the electricity bill file, three checks from Islami Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Rupali Bank, the plaintiff’s personal file and important documents. The looted items include Symphony button phones, books, business contract files with various mobile companies, Marcel button phones, GDL button phones, Nokia button phones, Itel button phones, Bengal button phones, Itel smart phones, Infinix smart phones, OYO smart phones, Symphony smart phones, Tecno smart phones, One Plus smart phones, Shandam (Samsung) smart phones, Vivo smart phones, computers IPS, CCTV cameras, fans, decorations and furniture.
When this reporter asked Harun, the accused in this incident, about the looted goods on his cell phone, he said that he is on bail, that the facts of the case are not true, that all the shops in his market were handed over to him during the raid on 13 shops on the order of the court. The plaintiff had already removed the goods from the shop. The police looted my house during the raid in the name of recovering the goods.
When asked about the incident, Kotwali Police Station OC Mohammad Shibirul Islam said that the police are implementing the law correctly in the rescue operation based on the evidence obtained during the investigation in the presence of many people.
The investigation officer of the case, Sadar Circle, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Suhrawardy Hossain, said that round-the-clock surveillance is being carried out to restore transparency in the police investigation. A class is working to question the success of the police’s activities and get unethical benefits. The investigation into this incident is underway. After verifying the authenticity of the information received, some looted items have been recovered. Search operations for other goods are underway.
