HSC 2025: Cumilla Board Struggles with Low Pass Rate Only 48.86%

C T Online Desk: Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir Special Correspondent : The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, revealing a pass rate of 48.86% under the Cumilla Education Board, one of the lowest among the country’s boards.

According to official data, 2,707 students achieved GPA-5, the highest grade point average. The results were formally announced on Thursday morning by Professor Shamsul Alam, Chairman of the Cumilla Education Board.

This year, 99,576 students appeared in the examinations under the board. Of them, 48,657 passed, while 50,919 failed to secure the minimum passing marks.

Breakdown by discipline shows that the science group recorded the highest pass rate at 62.64%, followed by business studies at 44.80% and humanities at 43.90%.

Notably, five institutions achieved a 100% pass rate, while nine schools saw no students pass at all, highlighting the wide performance gap across institutions.

Education officials said detailed mark sheets are available online and through mobile SMS services.
