Cox’s Bazar Airport Declared as Bangladesh’s New International Airport

C T Online Desk: Shakhawat Hossain Sabbir, Special Correspondent : The government has officially declared Cox’s Bazar Airport as an international airport, marking a major milestone in the country’s aviation and tourism development.

A gazette notification issued on Sunday (October 12) by the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry’s CA-1 branch confirmed the decision. The notification, signed by Joint Secretary Ahmed Jamil, stated that under Rule 16 of The Civil Aviation Rules, 1984, the government has designated Cox’s Bazar Airport as an international airport.

According to the circular, the order was issued in the public interest and took effect immediately.

Officials say the move will boost both tourism and connectivity, positioning Cox’s Bazar — home to the world’s longest sea beach — as a new international gateway for travelers.
