C T Online Desk: Couple of weeks ago the Los Angeles Hindu Temple & Cultural Center and The Mridha International Institute of Peace and Happiness of Michigan co-hosted a World Peace Day event, which included the first-ever Peace Walk in Los Angeles.
The program was arranged by Attorney Amy Ghosh and Swami Subhananda Puri. Attorney Ghosh in her opening speech highlighted to promote and strengthen the ideals of peace worldwide, fostering understanding, non-violence, and mutual respect.
Various Speakers, Dr. James Hirt, Dept Chair, Saginaw Valley State University, Jennie Velasquez, Executive Director Grace A Dow Foundation; Craig Douglas & Andy Bethune board member of Mridha Institute of Peace and Dr. Debashish Mridha, appeared remotely from Michigan. The event featured a narration of Rabindranath Tagore’s poem, “Where the Mind is Without Fear,” by Chaitali Mitra and Smarajit Das, and a modern dance performance by Priyanka Bhattacharya, which symbolized peace on earth. People are encouraged to contribute to a culture of peace through actions like advocacy, education, community involvement, and respecting diversity.
