Ramadan moon sighted in Saudi Arabia, fasting begins on Saturday in the country

C T Online Desk: Fasting begins on Saturday in Saudi Arabia as the moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in the country on Friday.

Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has confirmed the matter, according to Arab News, the Saudi Gazette and the Khaleej Times.

In our country, Ramadan usually starts one day after Saudi Arabia. Considering that trend, fasting in Bangladesh will start on Sunday.

Bangladesh’s moon sighting committee will meet on Saturday to confirm the matter.

For the first time since 2019, Ramadan will be observed in Saudi Arabia without coronavirus restrictions.

According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the Supreme Court congratulated King Salman, the caretaker of the two holy mosques, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, all citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia and all Muslims on the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates also announced fasting from Saturday.

Fasting will begin on Sunday in Malaysia and Indonesia, two of Asia’s largest Muslim countries.
