Dipu Moni: Students will fall behind if schools stay closed during Ramadan

C T Online Desk: Students will fall behind again, if authorities shut down schools during Ramadan, said Education Minister Dipu Moni.

Her remarks came on Friday, while speaking to the media after an event in Chandpur.

“We kept all educational institutions closed for more than two years due to Covid-19 pandemic, so closing the schools again is not logical,” she said.

Moreover, students who are preparing for the upcoming SSC and HSC exams will face difficulties completing their coursework if schools are shut again, she added.

On Monday, the education ministry said that schools and colleges will have to continue classes till April 26 in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines.

The holy month of Ramadan is likely to begin on April 2 or 3, subject to sighting of the moon.
