Mymensingh Medical College protests against Sohag’s murder

C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh :  Mymensingh Medical College is in turmoil over the brutal murder of scrap metal dealer Lal Chand alias Sohag, who was crushed to death with stones in Mitford, Old Dhaka. Students have held a protest march in protest.

The protest march started at 12 noon on Saturday (July 12) from in front of the administrative building and circled the important roads of the Medical College.

In a brief discussion meeting after the protest march, speakers said, “The scars of the July Revolution have not yet faded. In the meantime, people are fed up with extortion. BNP has not yet come to power. If they start this situation now, what will they do when they come to power? After eliminating one fascism, another neo-fascism is emerging. We who were directly involved in the July Revolution will never accept such brutal murders.”

They demand the arrest of everyone involved in Sohag’s murder and exemplary punishment, saying, “We don’t want to see another Sohag murdered in such a brutal way. We want an end to the politics of fear.”
