US Embassy conducts training on emergency medical response in Chattogram

C T Online Desk: The US Embassy in Dhaka, in collaboration with Bangladeshi Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD), Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), and Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), launched a comprehensive Medical First Responder Seminar in Chattogram on Monday.

This initiative, led by the US Civil-Military Support Element (CMSE), will improve coordination and synchronization among the three organizations in response to port related crises to protect critical key infrastructure.

The week-long training will cover critical life saving techniques for emergency situations, including CPR and controlling massive hemorrhage.  Instruction will include practical exercises, including a mass casualty exercise, and prepare trainees to lead follow-on medical training for their respective organizations.

Since 2014, the US government has supported the training of over 25,000 Bangladeshi First Responders. This includes specialized sessions on topics like Swift Water Rescue, High Angle Rescue, and Search and Rescue.

These programs reaffirm the US Embassy’s commitment to bolstering Bangladesh’s self-sufficiency and crisis response capabilities, strengthening regional stability and making both America and Bangladesh safer.
