C T Online Desk: Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that all the activities of the council of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) will end in failure if they do not win the hearts of the people of the city.
The Mayor made the remarks while addressing the 14th general meeting of the 6th elected council of CCC at KB Abduch Sattar auditorium in Anderkilla on Monday.
The Mayor specifically instructed the city corporation to perform its duties properly from its respective positions in order to transform it into an orderly institution. He called for keeping the city clean ahead of Ramadan, spraying mosquito repellent in every mosque before the Tarabi prayers with a fogger machine, speeding patchwork repairs to roads cut by WASA, cutting no new roads, ensuring uninterrupted lighting in the city and market monitoring through executive magistrates. He called for taking measures to alleviate the suffering of the common people.
Panel mayors, councilors, reserved councilors and department heads addressed the function conducted by Khaled Mahmood, acting executive officer and secretary of CCC.
