Four killed in multi-storey building fire at Shahjadpur

C T Online Desk: March 3, 2025- A devastating fire that broke out at a six-
storey building in the city’s Shahjadpur area, killing four men and injuring
two others, was brought under control this afternoon.

The fire originated at 12:17pm today on the second floor of the building,
where a residential hotel ‘Saudia’ and a women parlor were housed, was
brought under control at 13:04pm by two fire fighting engines, Fire Service
and Civil Defence Media Officer Talha bin Zasim told BSS.

The fire might have originated from the hotel or the beauty parlor, he said.

“Four men were killed and two others injured in the fire due to suffocation from smoke,” he said, adding
that the injured were rushed to the hospital.

The bodies were found in a bathroom and staircase on the sixth floor of the building, Zasim added.

The identities of the deceased and the injured could not be known
immediately, he said.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence official further said the cause behind the
fire and extent of damage could not be known yet.
