C T Online Desk: Chattogram City Mayor Dr.Shahdat Hossain said the martyred intellectuals are the great sons of the nation and the young generations must be awared about their memories He disclosed it while addressing the martyred intellectual day observed at Pahartalil liberation was grave yard in the port city yesterday as chief guest. He pays rich tributes to the great intellectuals those were killed in this day of 1971 by the Pakistani occupation forces. He also told that the intellectuals are the backbone of the nation and we should always remember to their sacrifices during the liberation war. The city mayor urges upon the people irrespective of caste and creed to become united for the safeguard of the country and to resist the evil designs of the fallen govt who fled away from the country . Among others Chief Executive officer Sheikh Md.Tohidul Islam, Personal secretary to the mayor Marful Hoque chowdhury and the divisional heads of the corporation and the teachers of the different CCC run schools were present on the occcasion.
