C T Online Desk: Dec 13, 2024- President Mohammed Shahabuddin will pay tributes to the martyred intellectuals by placing floral wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial at Mirpur here tomorrow marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day.
The Head of the State will place wreaths at the memorial at 7.05 am to pay tributes to those who lost their lives days before Bangladesh’s final victory in the War of Liberation in 1971.
Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will follow the President to pay homage to the martyred intellectuals, Bangabhaban sources said.
The President and the Chief Adviser will stand there in solemn silence for a while as a mark of profound respect to the memories of the illustrious sons of the soil.
A smartly-turned-out contingent of the Bangladesh Armed Forces will offer a state salute.
At the fag end of the liberation war, the brilliant sons of the soil were killed in a bid to making cripple the newly emerging Bangladesh intellectually.
