C T Online Desk: BNP discusses the country’s prevailing situation and the party’s position on reform initiatives
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus to hold the national election as early as possible through a consensus among the political party.
“We urge the chief adviser to hold the election immediately and establish national unity by holding discussion among political parties,” Fakhrul said after emerging from a meeting with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, a BNP delegation led by the party’s secretary general held a meeting with the chief adviser.
The meeting began around 6 pm at the state guest house Jamuna.
BNP Standing Committee Members Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Salahuddin Ahmed were accompanying the party secretary general.
During the meeting, BNP also discussed the country’s prevailing situation and the party’s position on reforms said a source of the party.
