Bangladeshisi students to get scholarship from the AUW

C T Online Desk: Asian University for Women (AUW) has announced merit scholarships for Bangladeshi students. The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor of the University Rubana Haque at a press conference on Sunday (March 20) at 11 am at the university campus in Mehedibagh. Rubana Haque said the university was established in 2006. Asian University for Women is an organization dedicated to the development of women’s education and leadership. AUW Vice Chancellor said that students from 19 countries including Bangladesh are studying here. The university seeks out women who have significant academic potential and shows courage and resentment towards injustice. Rubana Haque said 98 percent of AUW students are receiving full scholarships from private donors around the world. Most of the students find jobs in the private sector in their own country after graduation from this university. Many of the university graduates or alumni are studying at other leading universities in the world. At present the AUW campus is located at Mehedibagh in Chittagong for rent. However, a permanent campus has been planned for a beautiful 140-acre site within the city limits of Chittagong, said Ruban Haque. Announcing the scholarship for Bangladeshi students, Rubana Haque said, “For the first time since the autumn of this year, we have introduced a scholarship for Bangladeshi students. The scholarship will be based on GPA in SSC and HSC exams. In addition, the scholarship will be given on the basis of grade and points for A level and IB students. Students will receive scholarships up to a maximum of 80 percent. That is why at the highest scholarship level a student has to pay only 40 percent fee.
