Trishal cosmetics factory raid Tk 1 lakh fine

C T Online Desk: Sarwar Jahan Jewel Mymensingh : A mobile court raided a cosmetics factory in Trishal, Mymensingh and seized unlicensed cosmetics. On Sunday (November 10), under the leadership of Trishal Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman and in the presence of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) Field Officer Shawon Kumar Dhar, this operation was conducted at an organization called PU Cosmetics in Naopara area of ​​Sakhua Union. In the raid, BSTI’s unapproved toilet soap, screen cream and various cosmetics were seized. At that time, for violation of Section 15(1) of the BSTI Act, 2018, the company was fined one lakh rupees under Section 27 of the same Act. Executive Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman said that during the operation conducted in the cosmetics manufacturing factory, it was seen that adulteration and low quality cosmetics are being produced without the approval of BSTI. For this crime, the company was fined 1 lakh rupees and the cosmetic items were seized. The seized material was later publicly destroyed in the municipal dumping zone. He also said that these fake and low-quality cosmetics cause serious skin diseases and even cancer in children and adults. This activity of upazila administration will continue for public interest.
