C T Online Desk: Matia Chowdhury, a veteran politician and a presidium member of Awami League, has passed away aged 82, following age-related health complications, a family member confirmed.
“She breathed her last at 11:00 am on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka,” Mostafa Jamal Haider, maternal uncle of Matia who is also the president of Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar), told the Daily Sun.
Matia Chowdhury was a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s political landscape.
Further details regarding her funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
